How to add an item to a different layer

- Show layer window with Window | Layers
- Select the items to move to another layer
- Right-click | Edit Info | Select the layer from the dropdown menu

 How to create repeating patterns

- Create a basic shape
- Double-click it to select it all
- Right-click > Create Component
Note: Creating a component will allow you to edit only one and it will affect all instantiated/copied components at the same time.
- Click the component and dupplicate it by Alt-Clicking it with the move tool, this will add a + to the cursor and do a copy operation
- Drag the component. A new one will be created.
- Type 11x then enter with the keyboard, it will create 11 other copies !
